I read about 10% of this book and then tapped out. It’s exhausting. Too many analogies that don’t make sense (I’m sure someone that read the whole thing will say that they make sense later). And the Achilles and Tortoise crap is just that—nonsensical crap. Just get to the point, man! I don’t have time for all this pseudo-philosophical flotsam and jetsam strung together with “math.” I’m out.

Started to drag. Have other interests. Shelved until other priorities are done.

I was initially pissed to discover this book was less than 50pages, as I was expecting something longer with a depth of philosophy (ethics) and psychology. That said I have seen myself or others I have worked with, reflected back at me on every page.

This should be required reading for every law enforcement officer.

I’m only through the forward by the GOAT, Kevin Gilmartin, and the introduction, but I wish this had been available 23 years ago when I went through the academy…

Finished A Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man. Now I need to go back and read Dubliners. Anyway, this is my second time through the novel and it was like reading a new book. I don’t remember the first time I read it. My primary goal was to understand Joyce’s aesthetic theory, but alas here it is incomplete. Cribs Aquinas and Plato. Best to start by asking “metaphor or marketplace?”
