I have many questions as I start reading ,Connie Willis, ' Even the Queen' . How important is a woman' s menstrual flow to her balanced health? If a woman' s menstrual flow could be as pleasant as sprinkling Tinkerbell ' s fairy magic dust then I choose it. lol If we as Christians are saved by the ' blood of Jesus Christ ' then why isn' t a woman' s period cycle more sacred to us men?

"So the point of my keeping a notebook has never been , nor is it now, to have an accurate factual record of what I have been doing or thinking. That would be a different impulse entirely, an instinct for reality which I sometimes envy but do not possess.

" It was a country in which families routinely disappeared, trailing bad checks, and repossession papers. Adolescents drifted from city to torn city ,sloughing off both the past and the future as snakes shed their skins, children who were never taught and would never now learn the games that had held the society together .

The United States could significantly reduce gasoline use with the simple expedient of carpooling, for instance, Four vehicle occupants instead of one represents a 75% savings and if the savings were dedicated to building renewable infrastructure(a big "if"), this would go a long way toward solving the problem.
