I too had always felt that, somehow, she would be with us as long as we lived; that, with Nature itself, she would be renewed with the spring; and that her refusal to conform was not limited to banning entry to her locked-up house but applied to everything, even to death itself.

I know for a fact that this book would leave me all empty from the inside because the symptoms are already started showing.

“We had envisioned a life here in this city and then we had gone about trying to make the vision real, and in that process the role of imagination appeared especially ambiguous, appeared to have exposed something we hadn't known about our relationship to reality itself. This other death-face of imagination flashed before us in the periods when one thing could not be linked to another.” Ain't that a universal feeling.

Sublime. I almost teared up because of how beautiful the writing is. Does not feel like I am re-reading it.

Because of how so tenderly this book has started, I have a feeling that it's going to break my heart into pieces.

Wow, they, sure as fuck, fear the life out of Jesus.

This is a kind of book which allows you to read only 6 pages a day.

People in this book:

Cannibalism: “oh yeah! Bring me some. That's so good.”

Slavery: “Whoaaa, Whoa! Slavery is barbaric.”

This giving me the exact vibes of The House in the Cerulean Sea!!!

So many things are happening yet it seems kinda predictable?

Tia's character gives me hope and makes the story even more interesting. The world needs people like Tia. Now I just hope things get better for Adunni soon. Man, this book is depressing yet full of hope!

After months of uni kicking my ass, I am finally graduating. I am now free from all the worries of the world for months and back at reading. I missed this community. I missed Goodreads. Feels good to be back reading books again.

putting it on hold (at page.145) for now cause its going to put me in a huge reading slump. It's a wonderfully written book but I think I am not in a proper mood to read this now.
