I’ve had this book for two years and have avoided it for two years… or maybe two thousand if I were using Johannes’ measure of time. I avoid books about animals. Especially lost or homeless ones. I’m still reading this tentatively, delicately. A chapter. Maybe a few more pages to see if it’s still safe. Quite like dipping my toe in to check the temperature. Maybe the last page - ha ha hoo! No one dies.
