Only Murders in the Building vibes 💕

These retirement communities are so fancy. Could I move in at 26?

Je suis en train de le lire en français ☺️. C’est intriguant et un peu tragique

I really love how pretty the world building is. Otherwise, I’m struggling to like the mc and the plot. Not much has happened yet and Feyre, in general, feels like such a Mary Sue 😭. She’s pretty self-insert ish. Real Y/N energy

But fae world building is so cool!! Love that. I also like the variety of new species and characters introduced

So I’m finallyyyyyy picking up the ACOTAR series nearly a decade after finishing the first book LOL

also how does this book have a 4.64 rating on Goodreads. It’s fun and well-written but it’s not groundbreaking?? Are 14 year olds review boosting it or something?? Even classics and Booker and Pulitzer Prize winners don’t have this kind of rating.

This is a lot better than I was expecting !

I’ve always viewed Sherlock Holmes as this older, arrogant and grave man but he’s just a little dork tbh! I love that.

I love the little forensic and scientific details too. I know from Lucy Worsley’s docuseries that Conan Doyle was a doctor so his keen attention to detail about the practice of medicine, the lab, the experiments and stuff is fascinating.

I love this. I am completely invested in the little old lady’s penchant for little murders

I find that the descriptions of how Rose gleans information from food to be quite simple, fascinating and vivid. Idk but when she describes it I kind if feel like.. yeah, I can see how roast beef might taste like it’s from Oregon or how an orange slice from California tastes rounder than one from Florida …

On the other hand, I don’t get what is going on with the mom. Why is she so unhappy

I like this so far. The writing style is simplistic and more “tell” than show but it works. Frances’ self consciousness is relatable,,,,
