My problem with it is the disparity of detail Andrew Roberts gives when discussing revolts and massacres in Egypt compared with per se Italy. But what made me prefer to not finish the book is the greater difference in empathy he had for the two, though it was covert it was very clear.
I honestly recommend AbdelRahman AlRafii if you would like a better description of the Egyptian campaign. He researched it far better

The author seems to repeat a lot of things especially on the Hyksos invasion. I also think that the first few chapters should have all been under the title of ‘preface’ and then the rest of the book would take place in a chronological setting and similar to Plutarch’s writings.

On the other hand, the author does a great job at describing contexts and is easy to keep up with and makes understanding things easy

I am done with Life of Coriolanus. The opening felt very personal, as if it were about me. The main difference would be that I’m not descended from Numa.

During his trial, I felt like these were simply memories of myself. How much blame he took despite the good he did.

The ending was great, a semi-happy one but also a tragedy which really appeals to me. An unreal thing it is that this is history.

Very depressing book, still very accurate.
