I still hate all the characters but I’m so gripped!!!

I have never read a book like this before, it’s so bizarre! (I believe it’s an ‘epistolary’ novel?) It’s made up entirely of emails, texts and letters and, when I first opened it, my heart sank a bit, because I thought it was going to be a complete chore to read. I hate all the characters so far and I’m itching to see who snuffs it - and why!

It’s getting more complex and I’m starting to get some ideas (I’m writing them on Post-It notes so that I can look back on my deductions smugly, if I’m right! 😏) the characters are mostly complex and intriguing which is adding to the tension as I’m sure more than one of them is going to be a baddie!

I started this book and worried that, due to the writing style, it would be a basic and predictable cringefest. But I’ve laughed out loud twice and am very intrigued by the hints that there may be a lot more to this book. I can’t wait to see if I’m going to be pleasantly surprised!

Sadly, I’ll have to wait before doing any more reading.

My Master’s finals are coming up in 10 days and I can’t afford to become consumed by another story, set of characters, and its world of fan art/theories/music, in the same way that I was so utterly consumed by the worlds of ‘The Song of Achilles’ and ‘Lore’ 😂

I’m so attached to these characters, the writing is beautiful, but I am so tense!!

I’ve been struggling to remember how the story of the Trojan War goes, but I’m starting to develop a small but certain sense of dread. The characters are so beautifully intertwined and so genuine that I can feel their codependency. At each separation so far, they have both been so frantic and sad.

I love this book, wow. It’s so simple and beautiful and wholesome. I have a little bit of dread to think about how their beautiful story will surely go wrong, though. :(

It’s very interesting but very dense! And unfortunately I didn’t realise I knew most of the stories Higgins tells about Bellingcat’s most noteworthy sleuthing! So it’s almost boring at the moment :(

The writing is so simple... it’s so bizarre, yet so effective. I really want to dislike the style, but it’s beautiful.
