I hate this. I’ve had to put it down a million times because it’s repulsive and pisses me off.

The nerve of Barbara to call a child insufferable, and to play the victim, when she is that herself is mind blowing. She wrote this character so well because there are so many people like this and it is awful.

oh my God I was enjoying the book up until right now when the agreement to LIE began. This better not hold true because it ruins everything lol

I feel as though Clover is on the spectrum, which makes some of her traits make more sense to me now that we know more about her as a character.

So far it drives me nuts how she has stated 352x at the end of every chapter “I hope I survive the night,” throughout every chapter, as well as Rudy won’t replace the roof, it’s too late the storm is coming. It’s like when kids are trying to meet a word count and keep pushin it but she is too intelligent for that.

1. No principal would tell a CHILD that they lost their parents in that manner. 2. Nobody would keep a book of their patients names and addresses, how alarming is that. The quotes, maybe?? but for a book about such a heavy topic things such as this have been stopping me like wait what is going on here and I had to double check that this wasn’t about HER experience

I feel like it could have been shortened and been better

As someone that grew up obsessed with the “Chicken Soup” books this is like a more mature, better written version of that. Each story isn’t trying too hard because it’s formulated by answering a question and they’re just speaking from their heart.
