If you haven’t started reading this book you should, the way Solzhenitsyn writes is so good and fascinating. I’m about halfway and I can put this book down.

Do not read if you don’t want your prayer to be consumed by longing and desire. A lot of what he says is information already in my vocabulary, so reading it again has just stirred up a lot of my longings again. My prayer is rich as I entertain thoughts of desire and longing. I want Heaven, desperately. Give this sucker a read asap rocky.

Here’s what I’ve discovered so far. I’m mostly reading this book because my two best friends said it was incredible, they had the guide of a professor, I’m just reading it on my own and I’m missing a lot. I want to have a deep understanding of this book, but without a guide it’s been a little challenging. However I will keep trudging along, for their sake and perhaps my own.
