I want to say that I'm surprised Ludo spent all the gold but I'm absolutely not. It's absolutely incredible how vain and foolish he is. How ignorant and boastful. This is excellent character writing.

I'm Fascinated by the prose of this book. It's entirely unique and a bit disarming at first but full of life and charm once you adjust. I'm enjoying the differences between Gelon and Lampo. Gelon more the gentle, empathetic dreamer, versus Lampo who comes across as rash and unfeeling at times. I'm excited to see how the book continues with the themes of personhood and who our enemy is.

I’m really curious to see where the book goes, but I’m struggling with the writing style quite a bit.

Nearly done with book 1 and I'm curious as to where this book will go. Things feel very fast with little consequence. I'm curious about the flow of the upcoming parts.

While I can't say I'm a fan of Saft's writing style, I am having a grand time returning to Pixie Hollow. Her passion for the material shines through and makes this a fun read.

This book is so cute! I love the balance of high stakes fantasy and coziness. Keeps me feeling engaged yet safe.

R. F. Kuang does such good job at weaving the themes of race and colonialism into her work in a seamless and resonate way. Robin's journey to understanding the world around him as a colonialist machine is so familiar to my own path of learning. Seeing it impact someone who is truly a victim of yet benefits from those systems is a fine line to walk. Yet Kuang does it gracefully.

Finished the Duke and I! I was left feeling somewhat disappointed by the conflict resolution and some of the writing in the steamier scenes. But I'm excite to see how Quinn grows as a writer throughout the series.

I don't think I'm smart enough for this book, yet I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Probably taking a break from Maas after this one. I need something I can sink my teeth into.
