I’m not so sure the current “leaders” of the “free world” qualify as human at this point. Or do they? Is this what some humans think of themselves, think of their fellow neighbors? This is the true horror story. This book better wrap up with a good fucking lesson Dr. Frankl. Please.

80 years later, Frankl’s words are interrupted by the wealthiest person in the world, with the entire world watching, saluting his fellow nazi’s. This is not an isolated celebration of nazi’s by the current “leaders of the free world”. This is not to be cheapened by any other possible interpretation; all we need to do is listen to what the nazi’s have and have not said since. An absolute horror story.

The “lucky ones” that weren’t sent to gas chambers, in his words. The ones called and treated as swine because dog was too great a compliment, the ones that had frostbitten skin ripped off with tweezers, the untreated typhus outbreaks, the psychological torment, the physical torture, the complete apathy and disregard for human life. The people who were the “lucky ones”. It is an absolute horror story.

I’m eager for Frankl to land this plane with the tenets of logotherapy. Until then, we’re given the context, his absolutely heartbreaking account of the horrors of Auschwitz & Türkheim.
