I can't believe it took me this long to read this. But also, I'm so glad I'm reading it having been married a decade already. There's so much in it about marriages and families that I just don't think I could have appreciated as a younger person.

Real question: have Buddhists unlocked (however licitly/illicitly tbd) secrets of the universe hidden to most other people?

Lately I've been picking up books to pre-read that 10-year-old me would have loved, and the experience has been both magical and oddly healing. This is one of those books. Don't let the Stephanie Meyer endorsement turn you away.

My heart is aching with every page, but also, a book hasn't hooked me like this one in a long time. Both hilarious and heartbreaking.

Reading my first Henry book with my horse-obsessed 9-year-old. 🙂

Re-reading now that I'm in possession of all four in the new translation. Last time, I had to stop halfway because the other two weren't out yet, and it was devastating.
