National Book Award Fiction shortlist ranked:

3. A Guardian and a Thief

Who I think will win: my gut says Guardian, my head says Antidote (my heart says Raja or North). We’ll see.

My 2026 reading challenge is to exclusively read Ronald Dahl and Wendell Berry.
