I am so excited to be back in this world. I fell in love with the magic systems and the house in the first book and to be back is absolutely wonderful. And this time I'm really liking the characters, and I'm actually starting to enjoy the romance too.
Then the plot had to happen. It's a good one, but I'm completely content to sit here in the cozy house learning Folding for the entire book, I don't need the action.

On to Episode Three!

I don't know what's happening but I'm enjoying it.

I'm on to Episode Two! I have been thoroughly enjoying this book so far. I love how nostalgic it feels - I really am picking up influences from The Hardy Boys for the character of the book and various adventure shows, games, movies, and books for the actual plot, setting, etc. But even with those strong influences, Mammoth adds its own depth that makes it stand on its own.

On to Episode Two!

I love/hate the background we're getting on Daniel and Emma.
ALso I just realized that GR says this book is only 400 pages long. It is, in fact, 580.

Have no idea what percentage I'm at but the first action/serious moment just happened and now the characters are coming to terms with it.
That whole bit was quite good writing-wise, and I look forward to seeing how the author will handle the bigger things that are surely to come.

This book is dangerously bingeable. I strongly suggest you do not start reading it at night time if you have any sort of social obligation the next day.

Not entirely sure what I'm getting myself into but here goes.

(Spoiler?) thought process on the prologue:
- Oh dead people that's unfortunate
- Wow lots of info dumping without actually dumping info
- Oh he killed them that's really sad
- Dragon?
- Did that man just become a mountain??

I somehow managed to not get any spoiler for era 2 while at the Dragonsteel con and so now I'm zooming through it so I can to get to The Lost Metal - I /need/ to find out what that one announcement Sanderson gave was about.

Vin insists on comparing the two, even when they are not comparable. Sure, Elend has a lot of great points where Kell had bad ones, but Kell also had wonderful ones himself.
Come on Vin, quit pitting them against each other and just appreciate Kell for being Kell and Elend for being Elend.

I love OreSeur, I hate Straff, and I love the dressmaker.

When your inbox is flooded with GR group invites

Almost done! This has taken me way longer to read than it should be, especially since I need to read both eras of Mistborn plus RoW and Arcanum before November.

Starting to think indie books have more to offer (generally, but especially creatively and morally) than modern trad books.

I appreciate how a presented deep topic is being approached from multiple angles. It's nice to see characters conflicted and offering good points that are different from each other's, and not coming to a conclusion right off the bat.
