It's been months since I found some books I think I'll enjoy.

One kiss! Six years ago. This amazingly dull girl thinks about it every day. I could blow my brains out over her dumbness.

I haven't read a story with such a strong Christian subtext since I outgrew going to Sunday school. To have this message presented so strongly by an attractive woman who is enthralling a ne'er-do-well, attractive man reminds me of those books where moral good was rewarded with the most prized outcome. This is a real trip down memory lane! ... This is a murder mystery?

I'm feeling a "not finish" coming on. First, I'm not very fond of the girl. And I feel the author loaded on the brother with spectrum disorder and the abandonment by the mother and the poverty to compensate for Nicole's sluttiness. I also figured bartenders made pretty good money or why stay there for years living on noodles? James has the weakest excuse for a rotten image that I can imagine.

My comprehension is exceeding my interest at this point. This chapter is about malaria and mathematical epidemiology. I'm close to a DNF.

This is so good! I cannot believe I've had this book for years and never read it until now.

Enjoying the mystery, despite some nauseating violence. However, sadly the woman police chief is dumb as a dust. Will she insist on being by herself in a deserted field, just days after being shot at? Count on it. Will she spend hours ruminating, while seeming to forget that women can shoot guns too? Will she miss 5 days on "the pill" and erupt with fury when called irresponsible. Count on all of that.

For years I've looked for this book on audio, and it has been neatly hidden on Amazon all along. ... So this story takes precedence over any other. I've memorized it in book form, but I'm longing for the audio. ...
Such a thrill for me!

Right now I'm setting this book aside. It's another excellent story by Louise Penny, it's just that I'm involved with some other writers who are new to me. I've read quite a few of Ms. Penny's books. The audio version in so good!

Listening to the audio version. The narrator is terrific, however, I can't seem to stay awake.

I'm feeling very anxious for Bobbi. Something more bad is going to happen, and, honestly, this book is not bringing the sunshine.

On 2428, more than one-quarter finished. This book is so utterly perfect that I never want to finish it. It's not often that a mystery/romance is as involving as a mystery as it is as a romance.

This is a second reading, but it's been really slow going. I didn't write a review the first time because I was zipping through all the books so quickly.

Sadly, I now have two opposed reasons for not writing a review: I read too fast, and I was reading too slowly. Suffice it to say, the book was a solid read the first time, though it is less thrilling than others.

Saw that coming, I'm afraid. A story is harder to like when you don't like the dream guy. (Hampered by having dated a lot of doctors in my day.)

Not my any means my usual genre, but I've heard and read good things. ... This story is slow to engage my interest. The characters are interesting but not compelling for me. There's a lot of mystification, an unusual setting and unexplained behavior. I'm tempted to start skimming, and its only page 38!

Page 38/405. This story is slow. I get it. The characters are being established. The plot is being dimly hinted at but mainly withheld. Not a happy camper right now and would start skimming if I wasn't afraid that I'd never read the book if I start to skim at page 38!
