Really enjoyed this one! Like the direction we’re going in and getting to see more of the world. Would like to get even more about the Rephs but liked the glimpse behind the war. Knew during the battle that Jacob would be involved in the other side but wonder what the deal with the Rag and Bone Man is. Unsure how this will draw out for as many books as there is.

I really liked the book whilst reading but struggled to pick it up at times. I’m glad it seems many of them now know and knew that Roque would turn by the end but it was very late. Shocked by who Ares was and assume Darrow must lead the rebellion now but can’t imagine how the next one will start.

I just do t think I related to this, I might have more when I was this age but now it was more confusing than anything else. Also possibly my issues with relating to people have played a part but I found myself not really agreeing with a lot of the choices or understanding them.

Still not that into the book, think I preferred the film because it wasn’t in Charlie’s head. It’s so monotonous and disjointed, I assume that’s the point, but it’s just hard to follow and not very engaging. Don’t understand why people are acting like they didn’t know what he was like or if they just pay so little attention.

Still unsure where this is going. Is it just the exploration of how people lie to themselves, how they hide from what they’ve done? Is Julian going to become a more key player? Will they get caught? Was Richard a scapegoat the whole time?

Still not sure how I feel, the ritual part seems a bit far fetched for me but I suppose it’s the reason the characters are described in the kind of unreachable manner they are. Don’t know how much Julian really has to do with it, clearly bunny will say too much and Richard just wants to be accepted so he’ll help but Julian I can’t understand

Easier to read than I had expected but I’m not sure I’m going to like it. Understand many of these books will have come after but misfit who lies to fit in and then changes as a result is fairly overplayed at this point.

Still not sure about it, he’s still more likeable than catcher in the rye.

For its comparison to catcher in the rye I certainly like this better as it feels more obvious that this person though also seemingly unable to relate to others in the usual way he still seems to have some sympathy which makes him somewhat more likeable and naive than horrifying and dismissive. Not sure I like the writing style or that the emotions of the book are really grasping me.

Finished and I enjoyed it. Was right that Belbalm was involved but hadn’t suspected that it was in the past and not now. Sandow being the one to take Darlington and kill Tara was a surprise after he’d been written off several times but it makes sense. Glad the sequel will at least try to get Darlington back.

Still feels a bit can’t fetched and like we haven’t fully uncovered what happened, I suppose that’s to be expected with only about 50 pages to go. If Blake wasn’t the killer then who was? Was it actually Lance who’s trying to pin it on others? Maybe Belbalm is more invested than we think, she comes up a lot for someone not involved and it would connect to Colin. Hope Darlington comes back even if not human

Interesting to see what had actually happened with Alex but unsure if she has full control over utilising the grays. Seems like she thinks Darlington is completely gone so where does that leave us on that story? Is she going to live all of this out for him or will he somehow come back as a gray she can use.

Finally getting into it, how did Tara and lance manage to be so integrated into so many societies? Was the detour with the roommates just to find out that they drug dealers had more on offer than previously assumed? Is Tara’s story like Alex’s, once destined for good things and a place like Yale but found by others?

Some Darlington backstory to make us understand why this means so much to him and why he’s so willing to die for it. Is the Tara death to do with getting rid of Lethe? Have they come too close or taken too much and the societies are dealing with it as a group?

I like seeing Alex’s past help her here, she’s got instincts on who she should and shouldn’t trust from experience. Want Darlington back but don’t know where they go from there with the others. Did people get rid of him and are they the same people trying to stop Alex or unconnected.

Finally getting to some action. Didn’t think there would be a romantic connection between Alex and Darlington, might just be a case of clinging to the person who understands what you’re doing.

Finally made it past where I had before. The key to the greys and this murder may be simply the life used to take Tara’s or maybe it’s connected to Darlington as well. It must be magical and not the boyfriend but can’t work out if it’s the adults or if one of the societies have made an error.

Still at points I’ve already read before but should be moving past that soon. Understand where the conflict comes from but unsure how we get to Darlington being dead and why it has to be a secret.

Still not much to go on at this point but certainly intriguing. Hoping that I can keep up with all the societies and things this time and not get too lost in it to follow the plot.

Just the prologue again, clearly missed the part about a bite and dogs several time before so hopefully pay more attention this time around.

Liked the final twist although the Tiffany part I expected in some sense. Wish the Mason part had been an illusion as well but at least it was resolved.

Was a decent enough twist to have it be dahlia but don’t know about Vivi’s mum’s involvement or why she wouldn’t stop this earlier if it was so grave. Assume Dahlia has used persuasion to get Vivi in the school and everything else but don’t know why Tiffany was the target or if they’re working together.

Seems like it’s actually Dhalia who’s involved, probably already knew who Vivi was and that’s why she fought for her to join, allowed her in just enough to get her trust. The way she’s treating Scarlett and being angry she’s going off to solve it alone and then taking Vivi away alone all suggest she’s up to something.

Finally getting somewhere but still feel like Tiffany might be involved. Vivi’s mum being entangled isn’t that surprising, why would she have known about the Ravens at the start otherwise but don’t think she’ll have been the one to kill anyone. Assume the constant moving could be to outrun anyone looking for the talisman that I assume she stole.

Starting to wonder if Tiffany is behind it, she’s seemed to show different sides to different people and keeps trying to distract. Has the Mason thing been a long con to get Scarlett isolated and only thinking of her? Not sure why the Vivi and Mason set up had to happen if it’s not going anywhere but clearly Jackson and Scarlett is being set up for later.

Still unsure what actually happened with harper but like that they’re trying to bring all the characters together. Seems like Scarlett and Vivi are warming up to each other, assume Mason will somehow ruin that. Not sure where the dark magic is coming from if not due to their previous issues.

Getting more into the story now, wonder if Mason is being influenced by the witches they’ve wronged to put Scarlett off her game but can’t be sure. The reasons for her dislike are slightly more believable now as it’s more about expectations than just first impressions. Still not sure where we’re building to but glad that we’re seeing slightly more about the girls.
