I don’t know if I’ll finish this. I love the When Harry Met Sally references but something about the angst in this novel was really getting to me personally.

Heard this was good and thought my niece might like it for Christmas so I’m pre-reading it.

If you did a shot every time the MC points out that he’s from SC and she’s from NYC, you would already be dead.

As far as the open- or closed-door romance question is concerned, this book has never heard of anything resembling a door.

I started with book 2 in a series bc I dislike golf enough to know I won’t care about a pro golfer as a character.

You’ve got to be kidding me with this book. I remain hopeful that it gets about 120x better because right now I don’t get why everyone is losing their shit about it. (To be fair, I didn’t like the first ACOTAR much either and that series improved as it went.)

I’m still reading it. The author is funny even if I don’t like the main character much.

I love Penny Reid’s later books a ton, but man, this one might be a DNF for me. I’m in a scene where Janie is repeating almost everything Quinn says (I don’t want you to talk to her. You don’t want me to talk to her?) and its rough to listen to.

The Target edition is very pretty

“He growled like he was nearing his wits end. And his wits end was a grizzly bear.”

Pro: characters are funny and I like them. Con: designer name dropping always pulls me right out of the story.

This book has a weird vibe

A lot of this one feels very similar to the later ACOTAR books and I keep forgetting they’re a different series. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The writing is funny and cheeky, plus audiobook voiceover artist is absolutely killing it.

You know, I was worried this book had been over-hyped but the characters are pretty charming so far.
