Misogynistic narrator who knows she’s misogynistic regrets her part in the death of a young girl

Now that I’m on the fourth book, the formula has become evident and it’s starting to wear on me. The same cliches are repeated over and over. The slow burn. The bad communication. The bumbling.
What frustrates me so far about this one is that it’s so obvious who’s going to get shoved together with whom, and the male love interest seems like such a stick in the mud in comparison with the sparkling FMC.

It's good so far. I'm liking Riordan's wit and I think his narration is better than it was in The Red Pyramid, actually. It's a fun read so far.
