This is just starting to become interesting, finally.
However, I still dislike the writing. I remember that from other books by this author, but I think for different reasons. This narrative just has awkward, clunky parts, with dialogue that seems like different conversations taking place adjacent to each other. There are sections of paragraphs with no cohesion or flow.
Still, at least it's not such a chore anymore.

I'm so confused about the target audience for this book, because the writing style so far seems aimed at young readers, while the language and themes are not at all for children. It's incongruous and I'm not enjoying the book in any way yet. I hope it turns around.

This book has been a chore to get through so far. It's depressing and I don't care much about the characters. I've considered DNFing, but every time, I conclude that I do want to see what ends up happening. I may skip to the end at some point, because the journey there isn't engaging me at all.

This is a fun story with good narration. It's centered around adult characters, but reads like maybe a middle-grade or YA book. I like that it's relatively clean, making it accessible for many ages. It's entertaining fluff with good humor, perfectly enjoyable.

This story is still incredible. I haven't read such a solidly good book in a long time. I even like the main character, which is very rare!
The tension and good times are balanced well, the characters enjoyable and so inventive, and the storytelling is engaging.
So far, this is one of my favorite books ever.

I don't care at all for any of the characters, and am largely confused and bored by the rambling prose and constant attempts at cheeky cleverness. The latter is overdone, and the former makes each paragraph hard to follow.
I may give up at this point.

This has some of the most heartbreaking and some of the funniest scenes of the series so far. It's kind of depressing, but very entertaining.

I'll admit, when I started this book, it felt confusing, trite, unoriginal, and boring. I figured I wouldn't be reading very far into it.
But somewhere around the 15-20% mark, I slowly became invested. Now I'm fully into it and hope it continues to hold my attention so I can find out how it ends. Of course, it's so formulaic and tropey that some future plot points are obvious, but I may still enjoy the ride.

I'm invested in this story and want to know how it ends, but at times, the stupidity, unrealistic behaviors, and bland stereotypes of the characters are almost too much bad writing for me to handle. This is definitely written for actual teens to read, not for adult readers of YA.

There was a bit of a lull for me finally, after not being able to put the book down for a large portion of it. This book has been one of my favorites of the past few years, so far.

There are aspects of the writing that I dislike, but overall this is an entertaining story.
I keep getting caught up on the annoyance of the FMC being "not like other girls, super spectacular gifted girl who can do all that the men can do", but then I remember that this was written long ago, before that was repeated in every single book. It meant something at the time this was written.
Anyway, mostly good so far.

Jessica is on page 35 of 338 of A Tempest of Tea (Blood and Tea, #1)
The characters, scenarios, and ideas expressed are so bland and repetitive of so many other stories already written. From page 1, I've had a hard time just trying to follow what's being done, because the author's focus is on trying to say things in a roundabout way rather than clarity for the reader.

Not sure I'll continue with this book or will ever read anything else by this author.

This book is really dragging. It's mostly talking and internal monologue, more than any of the others, with hardly any forward movement of the story. Murderbot is also becoming redundant and excessive in his sarcastic comments. It's not fresh and interesting anymore; it's stale and overused.
I hope this picks up.

I so wish SJM would just get to the point instead of having such rambling, drawn-out passages that add nothing to the story but just waste the reader's time. I'm beginning to wonder if I should just find a spoiler summary of the rest of the book; it's entirely too long.

It's okay so far. The author really stretches out the story needlessly, with too many words and paragraphs to get to a point that could have been made in 2 sentences, and with too many storylines weaving together.
It's entertaining, but not great so far.

The book is okay. It's not gripping, but mostly not boring, either. I'm not sure why SJM decided to be so long-winded in these CC books, making them so dense; it's a chore to get through each one.
Still, I'm looking forward to getting to what I know is coming at the end.

Bryce is back with her toxic, deplorable personality. I'm glad for her funny jokes with Hunt, because they're the only thing enjoyable about her. I wish Hunt or others would call her out on her unacceptable behavior, rather than the author portraying it as some admirable female power move.
The story is moving faster than book 1, and is somewhat interesting so far.
