Excited to find this flip-over bilingual English-Spanish book, with a touching story about how those very different can be friends. A book children and adults can enjoy in two languages! I could practice my Spanish and feel the open-heartedness in this encouraging story!

"Her Tintin watch ..." perfect -- I love Tintin and used to have lots of the books. Also loving how much Paris is in this one!!!

Breathtakingly well written, Julia's story, with its unusual magic realism, calling to mind the canny Scot on the other side of the world, is only flirting with the politics of rebellion so far.

Tana French is the perfect read when you're too sick to sit up straight. Richie makes it all human. Hope it stays as good as the first 68 pages.

love the similes! "...and then the car was right out there on the tarmac, dwarfed by huge C-17 transport planes, like a mouse in a forest."

so love the nuggets of stylish good writing: ". . man, who moved like he might collapse at any moment, like a broken stepladder." or--"No one knows why coffee is such a big deal in Seattle. It's a port, so maybe it made sense to roast it close to where it was landed, then to sell it close to where it was roasted, which created a market, which brought other operators in, the same way automakers all ended up Detroit."

So far, it's the John Updike version of Joshua Ferris, but I see the meld of Dave Eggers' two capsules of current society, Hologram for a King and The Circle and am prepared to be chilled again.
