dry at times but a lesson in stringing together ideas. always interesting perspectives on events and people you thought were played out- jim morrison, the black panthers, the tate murders. i’ve liked the essays from part ii but the first, the white album itself, is just too good.

yayy so glad i’m enjoying this. it’s atmospheric in its descriptions of tom and dickie’s gallivanting in italy, much like a room with a view (which i got a chapter into before changing my mind) but it clearly has something more sinister up its sleeve. tom is that rare protag who successfully makes the reader question themselves for liking him. also, the homoerotic love triangle is awesome obvi.
