The fact that she doesn’t even touch on the fact that you aren’t allowed to just up and move to another country bothers me perhaps more than it should for a light book. I would have been appeased with one sentence of “getting a temporary residency visa was a pain”… but instead this is now the second book of hers that I’ve read where moving solely consisted of just flying there.

Okay, so for the life of me I cannot figure out why Hades is in any way interested in Persephone. I love this pairing, but she is just both incredibly naive and vindictive in this version. Like, she found her way into the underworld and just decided to go swimming in the Styx rather than just turning around. And she is so needlessly antagonistic.

Okay, I got two chapters in, but I don't think I can keep on with this book. I find Scarlett so unlikable and I have a hard time with books where I can't root for the protagonist. I don't want to spend my leisure time with a character that bugs me.

Wow I am making no progress on this. Nothing happens in this book. How is that even possible in a vampire novel?

This is a little hard to get through because of the pacing. It is so slow.

Maybe I hate her because Juliette has made herself the perennial victim? She is so passive. She doesn't do anything, thinks just happen to her.

Yikes. I am HATING Juliette and this love story that is trying to happen. Real close to declaring a DNF...

I think that button from the children's league will make me hate this book. I have accepted the world, despite initial hesitations. But Ruby keeping that button AND KEEPING IT A SECRET is so insanely stupid of her that it makes me want to throw things. I hate it when there is YA drama from a secret that should not have been kept. Why wouldn't she tell Liam and Chubs?

Maybe I am just getting too old for YA, but the premise of this book is just too far fetched for me. I can accept the fantasy element of all of the children either dying or developing psychic abilities, but that parents are allowing them to be thrown into internment camps? Especially the subset who are just really intelligent? Maybe I should just stop with the dystopic literature altogether.

OMG this book is Peter Pan. No wonder I am just not into this. Will need a major turn around if I am to get the next one.

Nyx has got to be the most unsympathetic character I've ever encountered. Am I supposed to want her to win? I think I am on the demon's side... People know what they are getting into with these deals; they don't need a savior so much as a little common sense.

Beware the book with not many reviews and too many five star ratings! While I like the premise and the writing is fine, this book desperately needs some editing. There are not grammatical errors, but I am drowning in exposition. I was considering abandoning the book, but a few of the reviews (that actually look legit) mention that it picks up considerably after the first quarter...

Having trouble with the main character. I don't like when the defining trait of a protagonist is something physical... But it is definitely an interesting world that's been crafted.

What the noise??? Robots??? And I thought the twist would have something to do with time not running right...

Even with the angels and demons (sort of...?), I am finding this book far more like fairy books than fallen angel books. There is a whole other world intersecting with ours, secret identities, and basically a lot of weird. The level of weird you see when fairies are involved.
