I didn't have to, but I went back and read the "Shadow and Bone" trilogy after finishing "Six of Crows". Now that that's done, I'm diving back into "Six of Crows" again. I loved it the first time, and I'm curious about what I'll notice this time around. Here we go.

It's 5am so I'm forcing myself to pause. I don't know how this will end or how I'll feel once I finish, but so far "Very Dangerous Things" is an intriguing, well-written page-turner. Though it's marketed as YA, I think even adult fans of cosy mysteries would enjoy it. I'll wait to say more, but I already admire Lauren Muñoz's work. Would be surprised if she didn't hit a bestseller list. Added this book to my to-gift!

I'm only just starting Chapter 5 of "Very Dangerous Things" by Lauren Muñoz, but I'm already intrigued and really admiring her writing style. I borrowed it from the library for a Goodreads challenge, and now I've ordered my own copy through a local bookstore. If you're looking for a Halloween read, choose this one! I'm a third of the way, intrigued and creeped out in all the right ways. 🫢

Now starting "The Return of the King"

I didn't enjoy "Shadow and Bone" the two times I tried reading it. I don't even remember the first time, but I was surprised to see I'd rated it on Goodreads years ago. So I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I'm liking "Six of Crows" so far. The writing style feels like it's from a different author -- or maybe the author just chose a completely different approach for this one. Either way I like it.

I'm only approaching halfway but already feel this book is going to be a favourite -- an actual five stars that isn't rounded up.

This marks my finishing "The Fellowship of the Ring". Onto "The Two Towers" being the second part of "The Lord of the Rings" 🙌🏻
