It’s the dynamic between these two, how Kieran keeps describing him as tiny, and a doll, and just…like Haz was in car accident the night before and then getting almost killed earlier and hello….concussion protocols!

So far it’s interesting.
Enough that I am pausing to share that one of the mmc’s can’t see in his bathroom mirror over his sink without standing on his tiptoes.
So he’s less than say…4.5 feet?
Little person representation. Good on them.

I’m not sure how I feel about this..I like the sociopath aspects and the brothers.
But I don’t get Oakley. Or the weird friendship house they have.
One of Oakleys bff’s/roommate’s. Is having a hard time finding a girlfriend who doesn’t mind that they aren’t ever allowed around his friends/roommates. Because yeah that’s TOTALLY normal behavior.

Another character just asked one of their mc’s, who is a swimmer, what his event is.
And the response was “Freestyle”
No.
Freestyle is not an event, freestyle is a stroke.
It’s disheartening when an author makes someone an elite athlete and they know f$ck all about the sport. Like not one of the easiest things..

How is nobody mentioning the very obvious similarities to a certain franchise?
I mean the gd concierge’s name is Charon.

Dom is so out of touch it actually gives me a headache. And what a drama llama

Oh look. I’m so not a gay 40 y/o man that I don’t even know how to dress myself?
Dom? Knowing how to dress yourself doesn’t make you gay.
Also having to call and ask your stylist what to wear to a basketball game? For the love of cheese dude.
This character is so unlikable right now.

So, this is the next book (book 5)
And I am again struggling with the setup.
We’re supposed to believe that Dom is this far in the closet just because he wants his privacy? There’s a far cry between living your life and posting it all over your socials which is what the m/c is equating just dating a guy or hell just a normal hookup with. Meh

I was perplexed why I hadn’t read any books by this author since I love me a hockey romance.
And at 18% with my attention wandering, I started to question..is it me?
So went back and looked at all their books.
And I realized that three of my DNF were by this author.
I’m going to try to push through this but…
Right now I’m on the struggle bus.

This.Is.Torture..ok maybe not torture on a mulvaney level. But JHFC. I didn’t like Felix the first time I met him, I thought he was a spoiled little jerk.
When I found out he was going to score Avi, I was skeptical.
All he does is whine that he doesn’t believe Avi has actual feelings for him. So he keeps pushing him away and it’s hurting Avi’s feelings, dammit!
It’s a slog…

You know how you find a book that just entrances you? You love the characters, the humor, the relationship…
But you KNOW some shit’s about to go down and you are hoping it’s not really bad.
But you kinda think it might be but you still keep reading?
Me too.
This book.
Love it and fear it.
Sitting in CLT airport, full of trepidation do I finish it before I get on flight? Or risk crying and making it weird?

Ok, so I love me some strong friendships. But these women are completely flipping obsessed with each other, I had to scroll back to the beginning of the chapter when It was Evelyn’s POV to make sure it was Alex’s. I mean they are obsessed with each other . I mean the memory of the chocolate cake? If that’s not a declaration of love…

This book is moving like it has a walker..also the writing is a little clunky..Imma going to try to power through this.

Yep. Still just as irritating as she is in the previous books.
Why does the main character need to be so ridiculous and irritating?
To say she lacks interpersonal skills is generous.

Lordy. I downloaded the second book thinking maybe book 1 Zoe just needed some time.
Nope.
If entirely possible she is - thus far - even more annoying in this one.
And if the killer turns out to be who I think it is. She is dumber than dirt too.

Somehow I missed that one of the characters in this book is named..Raihn.
Let’s hope that isn’t a portent of ridiculousness to come.
(Seriously authors, why do you do this? I even googled to make sure how it was pronounced…yep..Rain..Why with the extra consonants? Whyyyy?)

Lynnette is unlikable. Like really really unlikable. I don’t dislike her. It’s that’s in between place..where you’re wary but not optimistic

To add I picked this up because of one of the authors previous books Ask for Andrea.
Which was so good! So let’s see if this holds..

This has started out terrifying as all hell. Two young women driving on a dark country road being stalked/chased by some mask wearing creepo’s in masks. ::shudder::

Frankie’s eco warrior thing is long past old. I mean ffs. What teenager wears the same thing multiple days to save on “laundry tablets and water”? And it is not woven seamlessly into the story. Every time she says fusses at someone for waste…it just falls ::thud::flat. Also the swooning is cringy. The best parts are the bits with the old characters Spike, Willow and Oz.

Oh FFS. Could Roselle be anymore Mary Sue if she tried?
Other than being fierce instead of timid.
I really want to like this book. I do.
But it seems EVERY dude with a pulse is in love with or obsessed with Roselle.
And they are all acting like assclowns.
The political intrigue would have promise If it weren’t for all the guys fawning over her

I think I just threw up in my mouth.
With all the crap going on.
The “love story” the author is shoe horning in is at best in incredibly bad taste.
There is no chemistry between this two characters.
I absolutely refuse to believe that two grown ass adults could not keep from boning each other in this situation.

It opened with a bang. I’ll give it that.
But it’s slowed down significantly.
