God, this is a rough read sometimes. Just as heartbreaking as I knew it would be. :(

The narrator is killing this book, and not in the way you want.

Almost every man in this book so far is evil. 😡

Slogging through this. It's not that it's bad, it's just not all that good. I'm bored.

Fun so far, but at this point I'm not loving this as much as Blood of Hercules. I adore a snarky heroine, but the FMC is too unserious and she just said "low key changing my life" in this fantasy setting. I could do with at least 30% less vomit, too, please and thank you.

I DNF'd this at 8% last time, but when it came up on Libby for audio I thought I'd try again. I swear it was a LOT darker and gratuitous before and there's an entire scene missing after she trashed her room involving dub con, knives, and Diesel. Did it go through a rewrite for traditional publishing?

I have a feeling at least some of the friends (if not all) know about the breakup and some (if not all) of the trip's drama is a ruse to force them back together, Parent Trap style. And maybe Wyn's sketchiness isn't a new girlfriend, maybe he's got a furniture-making business in the works? Guess we'll see.

Not getting the hype, but it's good so far. I don't see this being a favorite, but I'd love to be wrong.

Had to take a couple days off from reading this one. I don't know why books 2 and 3 have me in an emotional tailspin! WHY?! I can't think about the scene where they dance to Keep on Smilin' at the apple festival without being irrationally upset, so of course that's where my head always goes. That and rainy days... 😭

This books is absolutely wrecking me.

Nothing but the high-brow stuff for me! This is probably the most embarrassing cover I've plastered on my GR is a good while.

I can't deal with the whiny and entitled, elitist fmc much longer. Might be a soft DNF.

I'm SO annoyed right now. I was on YT, looking for an audiobook sample of this book to hear what the narrator sounded like, and someone spoiled the entire relationship subplot in the 1st line of the top comment. 31 books released over 31 years have led to this moment and it was ruined for me in a stupid youtube comment I accidentally scanned out of habit, just 39 pages in. I'm stupidly sad about this right now. :(

12% - there's so much character exploration. I usually love this, but I feel like I'm getting beaten over the head with Johnny's dedication to his goals. The casual predatory behavior from staff is wild to me. I don't claim to know anything about the nuances of private/boarding schools in other countries inhabited by rich kids, but it feels safe to assume the staff hooking up with high schoolers isn't okay. I hope!

This is INFURIATING.

Very much NOT impressed with Tamlin. I hope she ends up with Rhys, because seriously, eff that guy.
