I was enjoying this book so much until the big reveal of her brother’s actions which I felt could have been said much earlier. It felt unnecessarily drawn out. I’m also getting tired of the “I need to be with you and can never let another man have you but because of your family I can never marry you” bit. It feels baseless at this point.

I have a hard time reading books where characters show loyalty to their abusers to the point where they jeopardize their own safety. So I’m having a hard time pushing through Graey wanting to stay close to her father who basically cast her to the church and hated her her entire life.

This feels like a parody of a historical romance. In a bad way. It doesn’t even have the humor or cleverness of a proper parody.

“ And not a single kiss had felt like this animalistic ravagement.”

Please I beg, get an editor.

A quarter into this book I started feeling like this author was one of those who mass produced books for Kindle Unlimited, and she is. 12 book in 12 months last year. Well it sure reads like it. I feel like if this author slowed down and took time to research her stories and to edit her work, it may be worth reading. If she starts one more sentence with “And” I’ll have to stop reading for my own sanity.

Still 2% in but I have to add, the husband did all this and you’re still married to him and living in the same house as him.

2% in, I know I haven’t even given it a chance yet, but I want to say this before I get further into this book and forget. I absolutely hate when writers come up with extreme plot lines just to make us hate a character when there really is no need for all that, cheating will do just fine. But a woman married to a man who groomed her baby sister and then married her and continues to stalk the sister? It’s a lot!
