Deadly trials, probably the best I've ever read about. Haunted house.

Phew, this book is incredibly interesting, but the author definitely does not spell things out for you. To me that's a good thing, the author doesn't think you're a stupid reader who NEEDS everything to be spelled out for you. They expect you to think.

I've had to re-read a few chapters as things were revealed so I could understand them better, but by doing that, a lot of things "clicked" in my head.

Oh no... I just had another possible thought and I DON'T LIKE WHERE IT'S GOING.

Here's me hoping I'm wrong on this one.

Pretty sure I just figured out the big plot twist. I've been suspicious of something for a while, but recent events and revelations i believe have almost confirmed my suspicious.

I can't wait to see if I'm right.

Really strong start to a book, she really set it up well. She is doing a great job at making me sympathize on both sides.

Rune is a witch in hiding, fighting secretly against the Blood Watch for the injustice of killing witches.

Gideon is a high member of the Blood Watch, who wants to kill witches for murdering his family.

I feel for both sides! Great start.
