The Fellowship of the Ring follows the Quest story archetype. In the novel Frodo is on a quest to destroy the one ring to rule them all. While the book does take aspects of voyage archetype with the characters going through strange lands, it only does this to reach the goal of the quest.

Frodo's goal in the novel is to get the ring to Mordor to destroy it. A major rising action is when Gandalf realized how hard it was for him to resist the ring even though he knew the dangers of it. This creates future obstacles with the ring having power over almost everyone which could stop Frodo from destroying it.

One of major details is the shire, the shire is the place the book starts in and the only place Fredo has ever lived. Another is the traits of the hobbits with how they can run silently. I also believe that the friendship between Gandalf and Bilbo is important because Bilbo makes Gandalf promise to watch over Fredo. I believe that the ring and how Bilbo almost wouldn't give it to Gandalf will be important with Fredo.

When Lee Scronsby gives his life to get the shaman to the other world he makes the shaman promise to help Lyra and that he will never do anything that will hurt Lyra. This seems like a defining moment for Lee, showing that he cares about Lyra enough to give his life to protect her. This moment also feels life foreshadowing with how much Lee says he haunt the shaman that the shaman will most likely break the promise.

Ethan Schwab is on page 120 of 370 of The Subtle Knife (His Dark Materials, #2)
The Subtle Knife tells a fiction story through a chronological order where at times a chapter will switch to following a different character. While the novel follows Lyra as the protaginist of the story, sometimes it follows Will. This happens at moments where the two charcters are seperated and Will goes does something. The author does this so that the readers know what is happening to both characters.

If I were in the story I would be Lee Scoresby. Lee Scoesby is a Texan Aeronaut who helped the gyptians free the children kidnaped by the Gobblers. The reason I think I would be him is becuase he is an aeronaut who is always working on repairing and upgrading his ballon craft which he can use to travel or get paid to help people with.

In the book the side kick is Pantalaimon. Pantalaimon is always there supporting Lyra and helping her throughout the book in fighting against the gooblers and escaping Ms. Coulter. When they are trapped in the labrotary, in the north, where they split people from their deamons Pantalaimon helps her form an escape plan and does look out for when she hides from the reasearchers.

The tone of The Golden Compass light-harted. The main character lyra learns bad news and just imediately goes to being happy again making up stories. When she finds out that here dad is curently impressioned and her mom is the antagonist, it says how, "being Lyra, she didn’t fret about it for long" (131), this shows how even to bad news the tone continues on with the characters being cheerful and optimistic.

A flat character in my book is Marisa Coulter. She is an evil person that kidnaps people for the church so that they can be experimented on. A round character is Lyra. Lyra is always being curious and trying to do the right thing.

The book is driven by the plot. When Lyra's father finds out where she is, he gives Malcolm his address and upgrades his boat. This is because he is told by a gypsy that there will be a ginormous flood, and when the flood comes Malcolm only has one option after saving Lyra which is to bring him using the newly upgraded boat to find the house with the address.

I wonder if the man that brought back malcoms boat is really in okaley street, because nobody knew about him. Maybe he is a spy for the CCD that planeted something with all the modifications that he did on the boat. I also wonder what Dr. Relf is asking the alethiometer for okaley street. Maybe it is the prophecy mentioned near the beginnig of of the book about Lyra because the answers it gives are like prophecys.

I predict that Malcolm Polstead will become a spy. On the back of the book it says that it was inevitable that he will become a spy, he also finds a secret message from a spy who was killed and when asked about it by the government he lies and says nothing. This leads me to belive that he will find the people that the spy was working for and try to join them.

Donovan has a positive character arc. At the beginning of the book he is a alien officer/soldier follows every order and believes that everyone on the other side is a terrible person. As the book progresses he starts to think for himself and question what he believes as he learns his mom is on the other side, this enables him to realize that there are good people on both sides.

The 39 Clues One False Note is told in 3rd person limited narration. On page 17 it uses the term she to state what Natalie knows. The book is 3rd person because it uses the terms he, him, her, and she; it instead of saying Natalie's thinking like it does with Dan and Amy it says what she knows.

The novel starts off by showing the circumstances the main characters are in. In the beginning, the main characters are made because they can't afford special food for their cat and are also frustrated because they are trying to figure out a clue. I like this opening because it gives you an idea of what the characters are going through.

In the novel, I am starting to wonder if Grace really cared about Dan and Amy. Dan and Amy are on an adventure to find their family's secret. Dan and Amy seem to be getting so closed to getting killed at so many points during the adventure which Grace sent them on.

This is the setting because the book starts in the normal world because they end up being in the overworld for like 90% of the book the setting is that.
