Sharon
Sharon is 33% done with The Doomsday Key
THE DOOMSDAY KEY seems a bit slower than some of Rollins novels, but it's holding my interest. Having read so many of the Sigma books I have a vested interest in these well-developed characters.

This Rollins' Sigma Force novel jumps right to the gory action. Loving it so far . . .

As with many of Rollins' novels, there's a lot going on in THE DEVIL COLONY. A whole lot! And I did find it hard at times to keep up...

As I said before, this is the 1st Rollins Sigma Force novel I've had trouble getting into. Loved the new characters - Jada and Duncan. I hope they'll return in future books. Loved reconnecting with Gray and Seichan. Lots of action and Rollins' multiple storylines. He is, after all, the master at crafting such. I just wasn't moved by the plot. But still a huge, HUGE fan. Look forward to the next read.

This is the 1st Rollins Sigma Force novel I've had trouble getting into. Love some of the new characters - Jada and Duncan - though I'm not sure they'll return. Loved reconnecting with Gray and Seichan. Just not moved by the plot. Still hoping.

So far nonstop action from Rollins. No surprise there. Loving this one.

Sharon is on page 332 of 368 of White Fire (Pendergast, #13)
I'm finding this Pendergast installment not quite measuring up to all the pre-release date hype. But I have a fear of fire and found the murder scenes extremely brutal and disturbing. However, I have loved revisiting the gutsy character of Corrie Swanson and the forever intriguing Special Agent Pendergast. I'll never tire of this series. Review coming . . .

My reading was interrupted by necessary work on my own books. But this thriller is a good one, and I can't wait to get back to it. Review coming.

I love James Rollins' writing. His characters are engaging, albeit light on romance. His stories full of intrigue & superb action, his plots always unique. With AOE I felt Rollins could've taken the story to another level, fleshed out the characters more, this time particularly in the romance area, since it's so tied to the backstory. No spoilers here. AOE is well worth the read...just wished for a bit more.

Sharon is finished with The Big Bad Wolf (Alex Cross)
I was into Patterson's The Big Bad Wolf until probably the last 50 - 75 pages, then the story seemed to lose its way. The plot got muddled. Maybe there was too much going on, with so many kidnappings and murders, so many bad guys. Then Patterson threw in Alex Cross' ex-wife, Christine. Please. That's a whole other story in itself. I'm giving this one 4 stars, but honestly, the end seemed lacking.

Sharon is finished with Chill Factor
IMHO, Chill Factor doesn't measure up to Brown's usual high standard. Lackluster characters, lackluster plot. B- romance. I finished the novel but was never really drawn to the characters or their plight. Even the baddie seemed lacking. Giving this one three stars. But still a fan...

This is a re-read. Having recently finished TWO GRAVES by Preston and Child, where they brought back Constance Greene, I sought to refresh my memory on how this character came to be. Besides, CABINET OF CURIOSITIES has always been one of my favorite P&C books.

THE LAST ORACLE is, by far, the best James Rollins novel I've read. Hmmm...probably since SANDSTORM. (And I've read a few well-crafted Rollins novels.)
