I might struggle with this one a bit as, so far, it’s like 2009 hipster bingo with mentions of vinyl, being vegetarian, tortoiseshell glasses, Portland, peacoats, knitting, &c. but I’ll stick it out for a while.

It’s a true pleasure of my homeschooling life to read this out loud with my children. Many a time after I’ve finished a chapter, they have clamored for another with shouts of “READ MORE!” It is, of course, not an extensive overview, but it’s informative and has been enlightening to me as well.

I’m so glad to have a new David Sedaris book in the queue, as I’ve read almost everything else he’s written. A really strong blend of humor and pathos.

Really love this book and just wanted to read something enjoyable while waiting for the baby. Also, really looking forward to taking up residency in New England again next month!

At 39.5 weeks pregnant, and thus often being inordinately grumpy, I have to stop this audiobook and wait until I get a hard copy because the very British narrator keeps saying “CRISSSS-tee-in” instead of “Christian” and, well, it’s petty but I have but one life to live.

Content-wise, I have some mixed feelings and am looking forward to finishing the book and sorting them out.

Listening to the 25th anniversary audiobook narrated by Jessie Buckley - so far, a pleasure.

reading this in the majority of my spare minutes - captivating!

enjoying this for numerous reasons, not least of which is repeated usage of such pleasant words as Niche, Apse, and Plinth

this has been enjoyable so far, but didn’t need to be 500 pages - bit of a slog at this point and I do feel like I’m being hammered over the head with repeated motifs
