Trying again.., I really like his other works and so many reviews love this book.

This book has me looking up nuclear war destruction and radiation damage to humans. Because I need more things to worry about than our current political problems and hostile takeover by elon and trump and Putin and MAGA. I was actually hoping that asteroid would solve the problem in a few years, but it looks like that’s off the table now.

Yikes!! Creepy ass story but fully plausible with technology today and the nationalist, far right mindset growing. I’m traveling but can’t put it down…

Ugh... listening to the audiobook. The main character "Story" is annoying AF and the story is bland and trivial. I used the GoodReads Discover section to find a holiday book that was lighthearted and funny for book club but this is not funny and much too light in the plot. I'm probably going to send it back. Not sure how it got so many high ratings.

I started this last night and listened today on the way to the airport- and just have to say the decision to go to the broadway play then spend the night in NYC is NOT going to end well…. This book has captured my interest right away. Pretty much can’t wait to get back to listening!

Halfway through and it's so well written, and I can't put it down but it's soo so sad.

I read this to fall asleep…. Slow. Marginally interesting. I’ve read two or three other books while this has been a current read. I’ll finish but it’s not my fav Meissner.

Enjoyed this book a lot- if you like elder heroines (the brilliant life of Eudora honeyset, et al,) you’ll enjoy this one.

Re-reading for book club- liked it the first time,

this is a reread - or re-listen- because i love this story but i do this hit/miss as i have time.

11 hours left... still plugging away at this. I do like the writing, the characters and the story. It's just a long haul. Audiobook - and paperback - for traveling. It's taking that long! lol

Over halfway through the book and the shoe has dropped for for Demon. I can only see sadness and misery for this great kid. The writing is brilliant- this is my first novel by Kingsolver and there will be more on my list to read after this. My heart is aching.

Omg- started this for book club late but I stayed up all night listening and still have half the book to finish- might clean my house so I can finish it today!!

I am listening to this at the suggestion of my father in law and so happy with it.- very hard to stop listening or fall asleep! Narration is very good with female and male characters.

Not caring for this and won't finish. It's overly wordy/descriptive and I don't like any of the characters.

Love this but it’s a softcover book and started when camping- plan to finish it poolside in Hawaii :)

I news to switch from audio book to print version. And probably read it at times when I’m NOT going to bed.
