It's just so good. Agatha Christie at her best!

Cynthia is starting 4:50 From Paddington
Tried reading this already and couldn't get into it, perhaps the audiobook format will help switch things up

Cynthia
Cynthia is starting At Bertram's Hotel
Starting a new Miss Marple mystery! God bless my teenaged self who was fiercely prejudiced against any sleuth who wasn't Hercule Poirot, because now I have the distinct pleasure of hearing an original Agatha Christie tale for the very first time at 32 :)

Cynthia is starting Living with the Dead (Women of the Otherworld, #9)
I'm going to give this one another chance, since it's been 3 years since my first read and, being classic KA, is probably still better than anything Rockton or Cursed Luck-related.

Cynthia is starting Double Play (Nadia Stafford, #3.5)
- Wish the time spent in Ireland was more meaningful
- The re-hashed explanations of what the other narrator was doing during the current narrator's turn are redundant. Makes sense if this novella was serialized chapter by chapter, but should have been edited out

Cynthia is starting A Christmas Carol and Other Christmas Tales
Went straight to A Christmas Carol. What a wonderful story! It grows more important and beautiful to me each year. Can't wait to read the rest of the stories. As an aside, the illustrations are gorgeous and full of Christmas spirit! This will be a treasured classic for many years.

Cynthia is starting An Unsuitable Job for a Woman (Cordelia Gray, #1)
Enjoyable on its own. Not like Christie's writing at all. Description-heavy, different humor, less dialogue. Still holds its own, independent of comparison.

Cynthia is on page 350 of 560 of The King of Crows (The Diviners, #4)
Not enjoying this as much as I thought I would. Having Jericho get over Evie by getting on top of someone else is a disappointing copout and oddly patriarchal coming from Libba Bray. Playing into the Hispanic "siren" stereotype is beneath her too. Continuing because I want to see what happens in Kansas.

Cynthia is starting The Year of Secret Assignments (Ashbury/Brookfield, #2)
This book is so freaking funny. I first read it in high school and years later it popped back into my memory based on the pool scene ALONE. This should be a classic. Love that it was written by a former lawyer too.

Cynthia is 50% done with The Cairo Brief (Poppy Denby Investigates, #4)
Listening to this one because it wouldn't be available otherwise. I won't critique the reader, although listening has certainly added a different dimension to the "reading" experience. So far though FVS's book lends itself very well to audio!
