The author appropriately uses the word “absurd” often throughout the book, but it really goes off the rails with a bus and 23 skeletons. Because of my FOMO I’m glad to know why this book is getting so much attention (30+ years after it was written). Most unusual book I’ve ever read (in a good way) with, strangely, some beautiful writing.

Not what I was expecting but glad I gave it a chance after thinking it would be stupid by page 20. More political than I was expecting (not a bad thing) and a little predictable (also not a bad thing) but you can’t read it without wondering what you would do if you had the opportunity to know how much life you have left. Thought-provoking and different!

Another heartwarming, predictable rom-com. I enjoy her books but every one has a fixation on something (how many times can his mouth turn up in the corner? Yes… you are 2,000 miles apart forever. and. ever. We know). Abby Jimenez has the writing talent to push herself and her audience more and still stay true to her genre… I’d love to see something a little different and more memorable in the future.

So many things about this book make it terrible. Do not waste your time. 1.5 stars generously rounded up to 2.

Fluffy and entertaining, with more humanity than I was expecting.

Definitely a contender for my favorite book of 2022!
