I'm reading an arc that's 450 pages. I've read 70. Wanted to read this and review before it goes on sale tomorrow, but boy has it been dragging for me. Not to say it's slow reading--I read what I have so far in two quick 30-some page chunks since the 18th--but I just haven't felt engaged so far. Something seems to be missing for me currently to really capture me. Idk. I'm thinking I might dnf to try another time.

Well. I'm getting emotionally throttled here. I'm in this book and don't like it. Not insofar as the emotional immaturity bit, but just... lots of things.

"...because there was not intelligence enough in the leaders to devise a means of distributing an oversupply of food. They remember that every plan for general good life is dashed to pieces on the wall of necessary profits."

"...unless some machinery...some clear method is shown, he is likely to believe only in that freedom which Anatole France defined--the equal freedom of rich & poor to sleep under bridges."
