I realized on my morning commute that this is way too funny to listen to at work. Actually glad I have a road trip in a few days.

Home stretch! Only took 6 years but I finally got in the rhythm of reading these reviews one after the other, heh.

I typically listen to every audiobook at 1.3-2.1 speed. But not for Werner Herzog. Oh no. I want all 3.5 hours of his wonderful narration poured slowly into my earholes.

It's good, I loves me some Joe Bob, but it's a little too repetitive to read too much at one time. Best to savor and not binge.

I’m having SUCH a good time with this book! Between this and Maria Dahvana Headley’s recent translation of Beowulf, I definitely want more modern women writing snarky books about old timey lit/history.

I had heard this is like an African Game of Thrones, but actually it's more like Imaro (Conan in an African setting) mixed with Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser (where Leopard is Fafhrd and Tracker is the Grey Mouser). I like epic fantasy but loooove sword & sorcery so this is way more exciting than I expected. The 1001 Nights style storytelling makes it tricky to read though or I'd be finished with it already, heh.

I have a good feeling about this one.
