Howard Anders is reading Quicksilver (The Baroque Cycle, #1)
Academic requirements have caused me to put this one on hold. It is a terrific read from all angles, but I could not give this complex story the attention it truly deserves. I look forward to picking it back up again, once academic pressure diminishes.

Have not made much headway; class requirements took priority. So far, I've been impressed with Mr. Stephenson's combining of history and science in the Age of Enlightenment.

Getting into the last two years of the war. Very meaty, but also very readable.

Howard Anders is 85% done with For the Common Defense: A Military History of the United States of America
Almost finished reading this book for a military history class. It is an updated classic that chronicles the growth and maturity of the American military system, up to the present. I like the authors' candid treatment of military policy issues. The chapters on the Vietnam War seemed more strident, personal than the previous ones. The authors are not fans of General Westmoreland or President Johnson.

Howard Anders is on page 84 of 344 of The GI Offensive In Europe: The Triumph of American Infantry Divisions, 1941-1945
Reading this book for a class. The author refutes the fashionable arguement that the Allies won World War II through the weight of materiel.

Howard Anders is on page 244 of 418 of The Insurgents: David Petraeus and the Plot to Change the American Way of War
Interesting look at the US Army's painful transition from a "big war"doctrine to one that supports fighting in low intensity conflicts.

Howard Anders is finished with All Necessary Force (Pike Logan, #2)
An improvement on the first book - which was very good for the first in the series. Highly enjoyable. Looking forward to #3.

Howard Anders is reading Dead Zero (Bob Lee Swagger, #7; Ray Cruz, #1)
Reading this on "hold" while I read "The Panther" by Nelson DeMille. For some reason Goodreads will not let me add this book.
