I’m not sure if it’s because my last few reads have been very eventful— I’m ready for the plot to actually get going at this point. It still introductory—I am ready for some plot. The writing style is fine and good humor.

Already like this book. The humor in the first few pages are right up my alley.

From page 300-370 I didn’t seize to cry!

The line “And to anyone tempted to kiss the TV tonight, please don’t chip your tooth.”
Sent me to tears!

Getting into the book more, I’ve seen what a beautiful story TJR is trying to tell us about being half of two things. Where society demands you choose a side. Between Evelyn’s bisexuality and Monique’s biracial identity.

I’m loving TJR’s writing style. It is an easy read for me!

Chinelo’s writing style is harder for me to read so it’s taking me longer but I’m liking it so far.
