Wow. 5 stars. I had zero expectations for this book but learned a ton about messalina but equally as much around the broader Roman Empire including the beautiful ancient gardens that are now along the Spanish steps near the Medici palace. And I learned about the town of Ostia. What makes this amazing is I was in both locations last week in Rome. What an author. What’s next?
