Sometimes i feel the book writing is repetitive sometimes i feel it’s slow but then something weird happens and i keep reading

I am at odds with the book. The protagonist is very dull and doesn’t have much going on, and this book is a typical YA book where it starts with quotation like “women can be heroes”, and yeah, you get the point. I did not read from this author before so let’s see where it goes, but the premise is interesting but not disussed in depth want to know more about what is happening in the front line

The vibe is way to similar with Home before Dark

So Ro’s family came to Sweden as a refugee and it’s so annoying i was assuming she is white the entire time. I mean if I didn’t miss anything nothing of her appearance or how she came to Sweden was remotely described before the page 316 or so. Also why is the bank robber female suddenly? When the entire book hinted a man because wife affair with the boss or did i get it wrong? I am so confused
