So far so good

The world seems intriguing but so far I had a hard time getting into the book. I'll give it some more pages otherwise this might be a dnf :/

I gave up on this book.
Such a small book and yet I can't bring my self to finish it.
I'm not sure if it's my English, that is hindering me from understanding what is so great about this book. The characters and premise of the book were promising but actually NOTHING is really happening and I feel very indifferent about what's going on. The prose was somehow ambiguous but not in an intriguing way.

DRAMA!!! Twist and turnes, left and right.
If we don't see some old friends like Butelios or Ferius Parfax in this installment, I'll eat a broomstick and die in agony. 🙏🏼😾

Its a slow start. The concept is very interesting and the challenges of Addie's "condition" are explored nicely. However I feel like it's getting repetitive and rather boring. Which is concerning, considering we just had a significant plot point. That took 140 pages to happen although it is already part of the blurb...
So I really hope the book picks up for now, otherwise I'm not sure if could finish it.

I feel so bad because the concept is great, and I heard so many good things about this book. But It takes me forever to finish. How hard can it be to read the remaining 90 pages? It has been months! I can't even explain why.
Is it the writing style? Is it just me having a problem with short books?
I feel awfully indifferent about all the characters.
I won't give up just yet, but I'm considering to DNF :(
