I never realized how sexist fairy tales are until now. It's true, we see maternal love described as destructive and cruel many a time (think of the term monster-in-law). And yes, the father's are always painted as the good guys although they never acted to protect their children.
The only good woman is a dead woman. No wonder so many women are prescribed antidepressants. The world is depressing for women overall.
