In reference to expert witness economists in competition law cases, Meagher suggests that given each side can find countless academics to assert either side of an argument? The court might be better off hiring a "non-partisan clairvoyant". Which is such a fantastically understated burn and I love it. This book is raising my blood pressure.

Harrowing. Very broadly researched which is refreshing for a nature non-fic. The audiobook is a little jarring because the narrator puts on a lot of accents for each expert Milman interviews but if you can look past that? It's full of great info.

With I had read this at 18. A glossary of feelings with practical examples. Predicted to be a yearly reread for me. Love it.

Loving this so far! I went into it expecting to learn a little about a sexuality I don't know/understand much about and I'm gaining some great perspective of intersectionality, feminism, and the sexualisation (or non-sexualisation) of people. Well-written! Covers a lot of ground but always comes back to central arguments Makes reading it easy yet exposes you to many rabbit-hole-worthy topics.

Fascinating concept and I think it has great potential from what I've seen of Jiang's TED talk but the writing itself is a bit cliche and amateurish.

Feels a bit like fanboy musings but I'm going to finish it. By focusing on one person (rather loosely, I might add) rather than the incredible science here, Isaacson isn't humanising the work. Just making Doudna into a matyr. Good but needs a strong finish.

Fascinating take on how patriarchy was form as a by-product of debt and not because of a social assumption of superiority! Quite convincing. My brain just dribbling out of my ears but so far a great read!

These concepts are melting my brain and I am oscillating between sheer wonderment that this system works at all and utter rage. All of this is and always has been assumptions and promises not physical value... yet it rules our lives?!

So far an insightful read for a total novice. Keen to see if the coding insights can be learned without using specific software. Curious to know if the knowledge is transferrrable.

Skipping half of part two to get to part three. First 2/3 of this book is a dull recount of recipes and salt works fighting other salt works for market dominance. Repeat ad infinitum throughout China, Europe, the colonialised Americas and even Incas/Native Americans.oh, and to add some interest? Taxes. Part 3 is more scientific. I hope it redeems this book.

Concepts clearly explained with diagrams of examples. I can't comment on the experiments or maths presented. Maths seems manageable at this point and the experiments are clearly written with diagrams.
