I didn't know a single thing about this book before i started reading it. Now I am slowly starting to find out... (my dad gave me some older books in english that my grandma was gonna throw out and that's how i came into possession of this banned book??)

this is kind of weird!!! it's set in prague, and i didn't realise that would be so significant to the story (i'm dumb, what can i say). basically, they are using czech names and saying things like 'they talked in czech', and that is weird for me. the names really bother me because they are used without interpunction or they are made into nicknames that nobody would use in real life!!!

the fact that neither of them has personality.

i have read the first and i think half of the second book of lotr in 6th grade but i stopped because i wasn't enjoying it. now, all these years later, i am giving tolkien a second chance.🔥🔥 i am hoping that he redeems his reputation in my eyes.🙏🏻😁
