It’s really good. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to read but both stories I’ve read have put me into a whole world that I both love and hate.

Idk how this got on my reads list but it’s really giving “I’m not like those other men, I won’t rape you” and she falling for him like it’s the sweetest thing she’s ever heard. Omg uwu big strong man with basic human decency, maybe I’ll marry him instead. Idk this character is just ridiculous. You run away to hell bc you don’t wanna get married and then boom Hades 😍😍😍

It’s like a queer hunger games but with gods and PoC. The animals are so cool as well

There’s a lot of sex in this. And it seems to be written from the dads perspective so it’s making me uncomfortable

So far it feels like a good intro to fatness, fat liberation & fatphobia. I’ve learned a couple things. The humour is kinda grating for me though (just not my taste), probably why I’m taking so long to read it

I feel like Octavia Butler traveled to the future and put what she saw into a book. It’s kind of unsettling how close to reality a lot of things mentioned are

I’m not enjoying this. The main character is extremely annoying and so is the best friend. None of this feels realistic. He has a crush on his friend which he keeps mentioning and I still don’t know why. I’ve got a long way to go but eh I hope it gets better
Starting a chapter with “Beyoncé is dead” also annoyed me. (It’s a goldfish that he doesn’t really seem to care about)

I’ve read 1 poem I like & the drawings are nice.

I should’ve read this before I read Fahrenheit 451. I can’t stop comparing and noticing the similarities. But this is a very good piece of propaganda. I’m creeped out

Definitely enjoyed the first poems more

It’s doing a really good job at being YA but also discussing important things. It’s not avoiding anything and also feels very relatable for things I experienced or felt as a young adult. I’m impressed, interested to see where it goes
