The prose is very meandering and could be much more efficient. I like ephraim and ballard's chemistry so far.

so far interesting opening but not really into the way the author finds it absolutely necessary to tell me everyone's hair and eye colors lol

Low key a drag so far.... really disappointing that it's "enemies" to lovers... thought she was going to be w the dragon lol

FINALLY DONE

This book is so plain. Gaiman keeps introducing his characters with their hair color and it's driving me crazy

Interesting urban fantasy vibes, but maybe this is just not the reading for me. There are def great quotes like:

"That is the eternal folly of man. To be chasing after the sweet flesh, without realising that it is simply a pretty cover for the bones. Worm food. At night, you're rubbing against worm food. No offense meant."

But I wish there was more...for a lack of better phrasing, "flowery lang" to keep me going

Brutal, but such stunning prose I can’t put it down

Absolutely terrified I need to put it down. “The closet door that turned into an unhinged idiot mouth in the dark of night, a place where strange things sometimes rustled, a place where hanging clothes sometimes turned into hanging men.”

Things are finally picking up again after the Jodie Arc.
“I loved two lives in late 1962 and early 1963, one in Dallas and one in Jodie. They came together at 3:39 on the afternoon of April 10.” WOW!

Forgot how much I loved the immersive prose. The arc of the drama show and George “stopped living in the past and just started living” was a nice change of pace (318).

"I remember watching the full moon rise silently over the trees on one of those evenings, and how it beat a silver avenue across the water while the reflection of my canoe hung below me like a drowned twin"
