Horror Mayhem! This is for you Scott!

An ambience masterpiece! And I don't say that lightly.

Release day!

"The lake that was the perfect mirror of the sky, so that you could fall into the clouds by merely standing on her shore." The prose is breathtaking.

"There at my father's feet, I died. My name was written in the grave already. Though we had crawled from its mouth just an hour before, a part of me, I knew, would never emerge." The prose in this book is timeless and it carries me away.

Jerusalem's Lot I fear will haunt me for a good long while.

This just got very heavy and I need to step away for a few hours.

Apprehensive about the direction I think we're going in.

I am going so fast it makes me sad to see the end is within sight

This was my first Rizzoli & Isles book and it stands out because it is not formulaic as all the rest.

Breezing through this, yet it does not equate enjoyability.

This is where the series really begins

It cannot go unsaid and I have to say something. I find it juvenile and petulant that winston groom clearly loathes Richard Nixon and is writing some scathing "prose" ( quote marks for I believe this book too subterranean for words such as prose) however Lyndon Johnson was written completely unperturbed. If a author inserts platitudes at least be original.

In the course of THREE pages we go from being at a war protest to being sent up in a space shuttle........*sigh*

The scale of prose teeters between Mark Twainian and plain goof ball.

At this point (for the new readers) you can see the vivid similarities between gabriel dean and jane. And then you'll see why everything happens the way it does.

Even though this is my second time reading this, I forget all of the "interesting" medical tidbits in these autopsy scenes.

Not that I don't appreciate an author wanting to teach her readers new things....but chapter 2 gets bogged down by the overloading explanations of how uv light works and very unnecessary hints at homophobia.....why?

Repetitive aimless conversations that come back to what the reader has already pieced together. I suppose this first one was written for readers new to crime, hence why this is my least favorite of the series.

"No matter how much you try to maintain order in your life, no matter how careful you are to guard against mistakes, against imperfections, there is always some smudge, some flaw, lurking out of sight. Waiting to surprise you." I absolutely LOVE being back in this world!

Did not expect antisemitism take over the plot.
