This book is taking me forever. It is really good but really tough to read. Definitely not a beach read.

A little annoyed at the attempts a poignant prose. Constant little one liners that feel a little out of place and forced. I just want murder and intrigue, is that too much to ask?

I don’t feel like reading so I definitely need a mystery/thriller to get going.

This is like a cacophony of traumas. The character development is nice, but wow every single tragedy that has ever happened to anyone in this town (possibly in the country) is mentioned.

A good start to The Summer of Libby Only Reading Happy Books Because Kristin Lavransdatter Was Too Sad.

First Hilderbrand novel. Excited!

I’m not ready for it to be over 😭 it’s just so sweet.

Initial thoughts: the premise is gripping, I am interested (nervous?) to see how Christianity is portrayed. However, the influencer dialogue is really captivating. So far it is reminding me of Yellowface and The Compound.

I have no idea where this is going but I’m intrigued

A nice little reread.

I read half of this book in one sitting. I am so confused, so surprised, and I have no idea where the plot is going. We will see if Malachi lets me finish it today but wow. Color me impressed so far.

I really didn’t like Good Spirits by Borison back in December, but I finally got into a local book club and they’re reading this for February so here I am again. Hope this one is better!

I was promised Miss Congeniality and this is basically The Bachelor fan fiction. And yet I read on.

Part of me wants to plow through these books because they are so udderly (pardon my pun) delightful. But I am trying to pace myself because I’m already foreseeing the devastation I will feel when I’ve finished Herriot’s books.

Reading this for a book club and we’ll see how it goes! Pretty interesting so far!

I’ve heard good things about Borison and I’m a sucker for anything seasonal, so here I am.

Interested, but cautiously reading this.

This was my BOTM choice and I am DEEPLY regretting it. Incredibly unsympathetic protagonist and a truly annoying writing style.

If I rated based on the main character doing things I hate this book just lost 4 stars

My BOTM pick for July. So far the FMC is coming across really preachy and I’m not loving it. Hoping there is some major character growth or at least some really funny scenes.

“There’s more beauty in the truth even if it is dreadful beauty. The storytellers at the city gate twist life so that it looks sweet to the lazy and the stupid and the weak, and this only strengthens their infirmities and teaches nothing, cures nothing, nor does it let the heart soar.”

This book is addictive.

Uh oh. This book is going to absolutely destroy me isn’t it.
