This book just wasn’t for me.

I haven’t read much dark academia before, so this isn’t meant as a judgment on the genre or the book’s quality as a whole. It simply failed to hold my interest. I really wanted to love it — the premise alone had me excited — but at some point I had to admit it wasn’t working for me. I found the addition of bracketed paragraphs particularly distracting.
