Struggling to get into a book that compares deafness to LGBQT+ when it has nothing to do with that. It seems like she's trying to strongly point out her political and religious views/thoughts all with in the first chapter instead of actually writing about deafness and sign language.

A womans determination to find out the secrets of her families history, leads her across the ocean to search archives admist WWII to figure out the secret of her Great Great Grandmother as well as her Great Grandmother.
In the 30 plus years of Eve searching through many archives and records, she had put so many pieces of the puzzle of which was her family history together that had been kept secret for so long.
