Just started this and know it's going to be 5 stars. A friend almost done for a book club read, said the same. I'm going to put reading sessions on a time so I can accomplish things on the homefront before Spring blooms.

I am so very glad I caught this at in the new releases at our library. I actually started with the intro and the title essay yesterday and it likely one of the most moving essay I've read. I am so glad she is writing non fiction about people and things in her life. I've read and really enjoyed almost all of her books and this one helps me know her, her process, life and deep, loving, connection one friend.

Still working on it...it's many heavy topics converging on this event. Especially right now. But the writer is a good at engaging and explaining!

I grabbed this at the book sale-a favorite writer's 30 short stories (1978-2008) and will move thru it one story at a time.

I didn't really want to read about bird but here I am. I am enjoying her writing and the story she dug into researching. But fascinated by a family that lets a bird fly freely in the house and how it's become a part of the family.

Almost to the end of the year!

Reading one per day...will be finished at end of year. A delightful book! Went down many rabbit holes about Chicago!

Just picked it up from library where found no one has checked it out-and it's been sitting there for months! What a joy to crack open a brand new paperback!

Not sure what I'm going to read now--spring and outdoors are calling despite the wind, cold, rain...

Actually didn't start rereading this book-spring is here and other tasks are calling

Am re reading this classic after enjoying the Lincoln Highway. Diving in during this Groundhog Day blizzard

Started but likely will order a copy of this to read a section at a time (this copy from library is the 2020 hardcopy and a beauty) This one looks good for a daily read to move thru the season

Reading this with a group. Have not read her books since the early ones (that I really enjoyed) and am very motivated to read others after this one. A historical fiction about her grandfather's efforts to prevent a bill to "emancipate" Native Americans (aka taking the pitiful land given to them by treaty and "relocating" them for "economic purposes" essentially culture killing. Devouring this
